Tackling the Elephant in the Room: Business Action on Invasive Alien Species

This session will provide an overview of the Invasive Alien Species Collaborative Initiative – its purpose, strategic direction, progress and key learnings to date. Speakers will highlight the pivotal role of business in tackling invasive alien species (IAS), sharing case studies that demonstrate action on the ground and the ecological, social and economic benefits that result.
Bringing together perspectives from across industry sectors, the discussion will explore opportunities, challenges and practical pathways for business engagement in IAS management and prevention. The session will also examine how IAS risk can be integrated into nature-related risk assessments and disclosures, including through the TNFD framework, with attention to dependencies and impacts across value chains. An update on refining the TNFD placeholder IAS metric, will also be provided and an opportunity for participants to discuss IAS integration within their business.
