Pollution remains under-addressed in corporate and financial strategies, despite mounting evidence of the interlinkage between pollution and climate, biodiversity, social impacts. Corporates and financial institutions require reliable data for impact identification and assessment and compliance with a changing regulatory landscape. Plastic pollution is recognized by the IPBES as a direct driver of nature loss and holds financial risk for financial institutions under evolving regulatory frameworks. This session will explore how companies and financial actors can act by embedding circularity and plastic pollution reduction into strategies, portfolios, and client engagement. Discussions will cover practical steps: improving supply chain transparency, multi stakeholder engagement, transition plans, and financing innovation in circular business models and across the plastics value chain.
